Three days in the 'Venice of the Alps' — turquoise canals, a crystal-clear lake, and a day on the slopes.
Annecy is a dream for travelers who want stunning canals, mountain views, and outdoor fun wrapped in cozy French charm. The crystal-clear lake and colorful old town make it feel like a storybook.
It's ideal for partners and families — romantic strolls and boat rides, plus the slopes of La Clusaz just a short drive away for a day of alpine adventure.
Three days is the sweet spot — the old town and lake, a ski day, then castles and leisure.
Strolled the Vieille Ville, visited the Palais de l'Isle, and admired the canals. Lakeside lunch and a boat cruise in the afternoon, then a Savoyard dinner and the old town lit up at night.
A ~40-minute drive to La Clusaz. Rented gear and grabbed lift passes for a full day on slopes for all levels, with local snacks in the village. Back to Annecy for a cozy dinner.
Visited the Château d'Annecy for city views, picnicked in the Jardins de l'Europe, and finished with a final coffee by the canals before departing.
Every photo here is my own. The Vieille Ville, Lake Annecy, the château, and the La Clusaz slopes.
This is Savoyard country — warm, cheesy, mountain comfort food made for cold days.
Per-person ranges from the trip, excluding international flights.
