Why Ecuador

More worlds than seems possible
for one small country

Ecuador packs four wildly different regions into a country the size of Colorado. You can stand on a glacier-capped volcano in the morning and be deep in Amazon rainforest by nightfall. Because of that variety, I split it into two trips rather than rushing it — each one lets you slow down and actually feel the place.

"Don't try to do it all in one go. I made that mistake my first visit — Ecuador rewards travelers who linger. Split it in two and you'll fall in love with it twice." — My honest take after traveling here

🚌 Travel tips

  • Buses are safe and cheap for getting around the mainland.
  • Domestic flights to Galápagos leave from Quito or Guayaquil.
  • Inter-island ferries can be bumpy — bring motion-sickness bands.
  • Carry cash; smaller towns and islands often don't take cards.
