More than Romeo & Juliet

Italy's city of
love and legends

Verona is far more than the setting of Shakespeare's play. It blends medieval charm, Roman ruins, vibrant piazzas, and riverside beauty into one of Italy's most walkable, romantic cities.

It's home to Italy's second-largest Roman amphitheater, intimate wine bars, and a slower pace than the big-name cities โ€” perfect for soaking up Italian culture without the rush.

Verona feels like a secret the rest of Italy hasn't given away yet. Smaller, calmer, and every bit as beautiful โ€” I'd come back in a heartbeat.โ€” My honest take

The 3-day plan

How I spent my days

Two to three unhurried days cover the highlights with room to linger over a spritz and a sunset.

Day1

Historic center

Juliet's House early before the crowds, then Piazza delle Erbe and the climb up Torre dei Lamberti. Lunch nearby, Castelvecchio and its bridge in the afternoon, and dinner by the river.

Day2

Roman Arena & churches

Started at the Verona Arena, then the Basilica di San Zeno and the Giardino Giusti. Aperitivo at Piazza Bra and dinner in the old town.
